Life is settling down again now ...

Joe and I were married on the 5th of January and had an awesome adventure in South East Asia. Cambodia was definitely my favourite.

Now its all just work and kids ... and some play.

We're setting up a business and will be moving house yet again in a few months.

Life's sort of gone crazy. Ive moved house again and I'm getting married in 6 weeks and then we are heading off for 17 days through Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore for our honeymoon.

So much going on.

Time to go to the pub for a well earned beer !!!!!

Work has been crazy lately, and I've been quite sick ..... thankfully the medication, vitamins and pro-biotics seem to be helping!

Im getting started on the wedding plans now. Its not very far away!

Well .... it has been awhile since I've blogged anything!

Joe and I have moved house to a beautiful 3 bedroom place. Much better for the kids .... and for us.

We are now officially engaged! For someone who has never been interested in diamonds .... I certainly ended up with a nice one!

We have also settled on a date for our wedding and have booked the venues and the celebrant! We're getting married in January 2008.

This weekend Joe and I are going to a charity ball that my work puts on every year (Giant Steps Sydney). Should be a fantastic night! We get to dress up in formal evening wear and pretend to be sophisticated and hob-nob with the wealthy and influential!

Everything is great with Joe and I. We have actually set a date in March 2008 to get married!! We're both just so crazy about each other and we know we will very happily grow old together.

Life is really blossoming at the moment.

Joe has moved in with Taya and I and we all couldn't be happier. Joe and I are just so glad we found each other.

I spent the weekend with Joe and his 3 year old son. We went swimming, hung out with friends, watched movies, and went to a couple of pubs.

My new lounge has arrived so the house looks much better now.

So much going on but so little to write!

Well ... what can i say...

I have fallen in love with a wonderful man who is just as in love with me and I'm really really happy! Who would have thought!
And you know, I thought I had truly loved and been loved before but this has jumped up out of the blue, smacked me in the head and is really showing me what love is. The future just looks so bright now!!!

I knew something amazing would happen this year!!!

Aside from the loud thumping of our hearts, I'm back working both jobs again after some time off in the school holidays and Tayanah has started Year 4 at school.

I spent this weekend with friends partying from dusk till dawn on both Friday and Saturday nights and had a fantastic time. Been awhile since I pulled some all-nighters. I had a great time dancing and chatting with some awesome friends.

Back to work tomorrow. Sigh.

Hopefully this week will go quickly ... the man has been in New Zealand for the Rugby Sevens and arrives back Sunday. Argh!

Summer Days ... and Nights

Really enjoyed the Louvre exhibit at the National Gallery in Canberra. I love artifacts and history. We ended up spending the night at a friend's (a fellow EQ2 player). The 3 of us played a bit of EQ2 together before crashing. John loaned us his Buffy DVDs, so when Taya and I got home the next day we watched Buffy for a ridiculous amount of hours. And Taya was so keen that we had to continue watching as soon as we got up on Sunday. With our marathon effort we managed to watch Series 1 and half of Series 2. Hehe. Not that I mind - I love Buffy.

Since then, Taya has been with her Dad, and I have been sick with a virus and sort of working. I was pretty exhausted so work was very difficult. But I seem to be almost over it.

This weekend I spent working at the RSL, going to the beach, seeing the Sydney Symphony at the Domain. I also spent some time with a guy I've met.
An interesting and unexpected development. Though not unpleasant.

I have a few days off both jobs after today ... something I'm really looking forward to. I have sooo much to get organised before the start of school. Have to get the home life all sorted and also find the time to relax a bit!

Taya comes home on Friday night or Saturday morning and I'm hoping to go down to Batemans Bay for the weekend to unwind. We shall see.

God so many things I meant to do during the break but havent. Dentist, Optometrist, exercise, bike riding. Ah well.

Today was a fantastic summer day.

Taya and I enjoyed most of the day at Narrabeen Beach. I absolutely love lying in the sun. Clearing my mind and feeling completely relaxed. I'm not sure what Taya thinks of it really. She runs around playing in the water and with the sand. There's no complaints so she must enjoy herself hehe.

After a refreshing shower each, we caught a bus into the city and wandered around for a bit. Then we feasted at Pancakes on the Rocks. I had Greek Crepes - spinach and fetta filled crepes with a special tomato sauce and sour cream, and Taya had yummy nachos. Then for dessert Taya had a short stack with whipped butter and fresh cream and I had what is aptly named 'The Ultimate' - crepes filled with cream cheese on a raspberry sauce with ice cream and strawberries.

What an awesome day!!

We're off to Canberra for a couple of days tomorrow. Heading to see the Egyptian exhibit at the National Gallery that is visiting from The Louvre. Should be great.

I've spent the last few days teaching Taya to ride her new bike - with no training wheels. She's going pretty well. I've been taking her to the Bay Run and holding the bike running alongside her. Hehe. Pretty funny to watch I'm sure! She'll be zooming along in no time.

Hello 2007

Been awhile since I updated ... hmm ... where to begin!

The end of the school term was extremely busy for both Taya and I. We both finished up work and school on the 21st December.

Christmas was spent with family in Batemans Bay. The first full family Christmas I've had in many many years, and the first time Tayanah has been with my whole family for Christmas Day.

I've worked a few days here and there at both jobs since then.

New Years Eve was spent partying with friends and watching the fireworks from a nearby park. We had a fantastic view of the city so got to see the whole show without the crowds.

I've got the next 7 days off both jobs. So I'm feeling great today.

The year has so far started out really well. I feel like 2006 was a bit stagnant. But I have a feeling 2007 has some exciting things in store for me.

Bring it on!
I'm ready for anything and everything!

What a weekend!

I had a huge week at both jobs last week but after working all day Friday and also till 1am at the club, I went out with friends to the local pub. And then ended up going to the Bridge Hotel. I had a great time and met heaps of people. After a morning stop at maccas for breakfast a few friends and I came back to my place at about 6.30am and I dragged them for a walk in the morning sunshine. hehe. I had to go to work for a few hours at 8am so I figured I should just stay awake so going for a walk seemed like a good idea. We did actually enjoy ourselves. I went to work and spent a couple of hours moving furniture around in the office and then I slept for a few hours when I got back home. I was enjoying a night in last night but some friends called at 11.30pm and enticed me to go out. So off I went. Was going to do it all again but I went home at 3am to get some sleep.

Today I had a huge sleep in and then went to the beach to recharge myself. The beach always makes me feel relaxed and in love with the world.

Lots has been happening lately.

Tayanah turned 9 on the 15th and she's had quite a few orthodontist appointments.

Christmas is coming. This weekend I've organised for some students from Giant Steps to participate in the local Christmas Parade. Should be a great day. Tayanah will be marching with her school and I will be marching with my work. It's really exciting for Giant Steps to be part of the community and bring awareness. I can't wait! Though rain has been forecast!!! Lots of last minute things to take care of this week.

My mum and stepdad are coming up to stay with us this weekend which will be great.

I've got some new ideas for things to add to my sire, which I will slowly work on as I find the time.

Kebabs

Man I love kebabs.

After working a full week plus a few shifts at the RSL there's nothing like letting your hair down with copious amounts of alocohol and following it up with a kebab for the journey home.

I think I danced to every embarrassing song imagineable and smiled at every drunk Tom Dick and Harry.

Now I'm at home eating a kebab about to watch an empowering movie like Bridget Jones and will probably cry cause while I am very much like her, I just never get the guy. Damn it. Never get the guy. Ah well. If I had a guy, I wouldn't have the freedom I have I guess. Let's not talk about the guy. He sucks.

Change is good

Well I have managed to settle my restlessness and boredom by changing my hair yet again. I love hair. Lolly red, black and blonde look great together in my opinion. I already had the underneath part of my hair coloured black and I've now added some black and red to the top. hehe. Wonder if the RSL will mind the new look bahahaaa. Guess I will find out tonight.

This weekend ...

I'm missing out on the Sydney FC game tonight because I have to work ... sigh.

Saturday the latest stage of the Glebe Foreshore Redevelopment is being offcially opened. I'm going for the free native plant and to listen to some live jazz between 2.00 and 4.00pm.

Sunday is the Newtown Festival ... here's hoping it doesn't rain! Should be a great day.

I renewed my membership yesterday and also signed up Taya and within 5 minutes our names were announced on the radio (of course Taya was jumping and squealing). We won a copy of Starky's album. Then about an hour or so later we were in the car and I was talking to Tay when she interrupted me cause she heard Peach & Shag say 'Rebecca' she then squealed when they said our suburb ... anyway ... they announced that I won the show prize of an MStation. A groovy piece of equipment that you can plug any MP3 player into and you have an instant stereo. Pretty cool!

Needless to say ... I drove straight to the newsagent and bought a Lotto ticket. hehehehe.

Sanity

I'm getting things back to normal again. Feeling a bit more organised. Getting back into exercising.

Last night Taya and I walked for 2 hours around the area. Found some beautiful old buildings and gravestones from the 1920's and saw some great views of the river. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Daylight Savings ROCKS! I really love being able to enjoy my time after work. So much better than short dark cold nights.

Roaring Twenties - Oh what a night!

Yesterday was my netball club - Wentworthville Leagues end of season presentation. The juniors had thair awards and disco during the afternoon, where there was much giggling, dancing, limbo-ing and hula-hooping - and of course I joined in all these things with the girls. I was there with the team of 10 year olds I co-coached throughout the year, and also for Taya who played in the 9 year old team.

The seniors celebration happened in the evening, and was themed 1920's. We had so much fun getting dressed up in such a glamourous way! I threw my outfit together with very little expense.

One of my evening dresses, my old style shoes, my beaded headpiece that I LOVE to wear wherever possible, and I bought a feather boa, and a long string of red christmas decoration beads from a $2 shop. I topped it off with a long black ciggarette filter. I was worried that next to all the hired costumes I would look pretty lame, but I think it wasn't too bad. We all had a fantastic night. Feeling a little bit seedy this morning though. But the berocca, nurofen and maccas burger are all kicking in and I will soon be ready to face heading to Aussie Stadium to watch the Sydney FC game tonight.

When you let things slide .... you end up in a mud pit.

Maintaining control over ones life can be tricky. You can start with, lack of sleep, lack of good food and lack of exercise, and end up with sick body, fuzzy mind, untidy house, confused thoughts, ignored responsibilities and just generally feel like CRAP!

Ah well. Time to get my arse into gear.
So do I just fight to regain control, or should I analyse what has led to this???
Decisions, decisions, something I'm not good at right now.

If I was a tree, I could appreciate both the sun, and the rain.

Had a lovely sleep in this morning. I spent yet another night squinting at the computer screen making changes to my site and trying to learn how to fix css erros etc. I seem to be almost blind this morning hehehe.

Taya and I are off to see Sydney FC v Melbourne Victory tonight. Should be an awesome match. Alot of hype - though the CC Mariners are doing quite well it seems!

Come on Sydney !!!!!!!!!!!

Yes ... oh yes ... night time fun and early mornings just do not go together when you get older! Hmmm .... Guinness!

Work has been a bit of a struggle this week in general after having such an awesome week off! Also, I worked day and night on the last weekend of the school holidays at the RSL so I am totally knackered.

The sunshine is what keeps inspiring though..

As a good friend once said to me ... "What a beautiful day" (with the band U2 in mind). I always think of this on gorgeous days. Makes me smile.

Things are fantastic! I love my jobs at Giant Steps and the RSL, I'm exercising all the time and eating well. I go out with my friends alot and spend heaps of beautiful time with Tayanah.

I'm always pushing Taya and I do to new things to make sure we experience as much as life has to offer - which means we're pretty busy girls! We've got a very long list of things to do and we are slowly getting through it. We are not only mother and daughter, but we are truly each others' best friend. We have a real team lifestyle and support each other through the good and the bad.

Summer is on the way now and we've just spent a week off school and work, enjoying trips to the beach, going to Sydney FC and Socceroo games, Horse riding in Centennial Park, Cirque du Soleil - Varekai, and spending lots of time in Newtown, Surry Hills and Leichhardt.

Bring on Summer and the Sydney Festival Season!!!!
